Amsterdam

A couple of weeks ago I travelled to Amsterdam during my Easter holidays, and I fell in love with it. I went for two nights, so I had to cram a lot in during the time. I knew I had to visit Anne Frank's house and The Van Gogh Museum but other than that I just wanted to wander around the town, visiting the shops, seeing all the canals and trying the different foods.

I took my camera (a Panasonic DMC-FZ18) and aimed to take as many photos as I could, which is an advantage with my camera because it is an easy camera to use and has many characteristics of a 'snappy' camera, but it takes high-quality photos and has plenty of settings for everything. However, being me, everyday I put it in my bag, which meant I would forget to take any photos and ended up taking the majority on my IPhone. The few I do have are from the one day I wore my camera
because I only notice photo opportunities with my camera out and on me.

Personally, I think this picture sums up my trip to Amsterdam. There were tonnes of bikes everywhere, everyone cycled, bikes had priority. I wish England was like that, less cars and more bikes. Amsterdam is the future, the more eco-friendly transport is clearly a bike, is it coming back? Also, along with the bikes, there were plenty of trams on the main roads and each one crossed over the most gorgeous canals. The number of canals was amazing. Every corner you turned was a canal, which made it very easy to get lost (especially if you're not good at directions in the first place, like me). However, with the amount of bikes that were there, about 20 bikes to 1 car, it meant I wasn't constantly checking to see if I was about to get run over, which is definitely an advantage!
